CPJ Condemns Assault and Detention of Sudanese Media Workers
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has condemned the assault and detention of media workers in Sudan by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), and has called on all parties to ensure that reporters can operate without fear.
The RSF has allegedly beaten and robbed at least three journalists and detained two since May 16, according to the media watchdog.
The fighting between the two ruling forces in Sudan has resulted in at least 700 deaths and thousands of injuries.
