MBS’s visit heralds new era of cooperation in Saudi–Turkish relations
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the herald of a new era of cooperation in the entire gamut of bilateral ties, including political, economic, military, security, and cultural spheres.
Ankara and Riyadh decided to deepen consultation and cooperation on regional issues to strengthen stability and peace, it was stated in the Saudi-Turkish joint statement issued at the end of the Crown Prince’s one-day state visit to Turkey on Wednesday evening.
During their talks, the two leaders vowed to maintain and further strengthen cooperation on the basis of ‘historical brotherhood’ of the two nations for the future of the region.
Saudi Arabia expressed gratitude for Turkey’s support for Riyadh’s candidacy to host Expo 2030, according to the joint declaration.
Riyadh and Ankara highlighted the importance of increasing number of flights between the two countries as well as simplifying and easing the procedures of bilateral trade, exploring investment opportunities and transforming them into concrete partnerships, the statement added.
