Marriott and Al Qimmah Hospitality Sign Landmark Deal for Five New Hotels in Saudi Arabia
Agreement will add more than 2,700 rooms across key cities as Saudi tourism growth accelerates
Marriott International and Al Qimmah Hospitality, a subsidiary of BinDawood Investment, have signed a strategic agreement to develop five new hotels in Saudi Arabia, significantly expanding the global hotel group’s footprint in the kingdom.
The multi-project deal, announced this week, will introduce more than 2,700 new rooms under four of Marriott’s well-established brands in Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah, reflecting confidence in Saudi Arabia’s tourism and hospitality growth.
The planned properties include JW Marriott Jeddah, The Apartments, which will feature a broad range of extended-stay accommodations with studios and multi-bedroom units, as well as a major presence for Four Points by Sheraton in Makkah and Madinah catering to both pilgrims and leisure travellers.
An Element hotel in Madinah Sultana Road designed for flexible short- and long-stay visits and the kingdom’s first Four Points Flex by Sheraton property in Madinah’s Hijrah Road district will further diversify offerings for travellers.
Marriott already operates in Saudi Arabia and has recently achieved a milestone of 100 open and pipeline hotels in the kingdom, demonstrating its deepening engagement with Vision 2030 objectives to grow tourism and hospitality infrastructure.
Senior executives from both organisations highlighted the agreement’s alignment with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious tourism strategy, which aims to boost international and domestic demand and position the kingdom as a leading global travel destination.
The new hotels are expected to enhance visitor experiences across major urban and religious tourism hubs and create additional employment opportunities as the kingdom’s travel sector expands.
