Kuwait's Emir Urges New Prime Minister and Cabinet to Accelerate Reforms and Develop Economy
On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, Kuwait's Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, held a meeting with the newly appointed prime minister and his cabinet members.
The gathering was reported by the Kuwait News Agency.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mishal emphasized the importance of entering a new phase of reforms and taking decisive actions.
He urged the ministers to expedite the implementation of long-standing strategic development projects, tackle pressing issues, focus on infrastructure development, enhance healthcare and educational systems, and prioritize transparency and the preservation of public funds.
Sheikh Mishal had appointed Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as prime minister on April 13, 2021, and dissolved parliament on April 23, 2021, during a televised address.
The Emir encouraged the ministers to strengthen and sustain Kuwait's economy by investing in human capital and fostering innovation and scientific research.
