Kremlin: No Expectations for Miracles from Proposed Round of Peace Talks with Ukraine
The Kremlin maintains that no breakthroughs are expected from the upcoming peace talks and emphasizes the pursuit of interests.
MOSCOW - The Kremlin stated on Tuesday that there is little expectation for significant progress in the proposed third round of direct Russian-Ukrainian peace talks.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov indicated that under current circumstances, 'miracle' breakthroughs are unlikely.
He emphasized that Russia will continue to pursue its interests and fulfill the objectives set out from the beginning of the conflict.
Peskov also declined to speculate on a potential timeline for an agreement to end the war, noting that substantial work remains before discussing high-level meetings can be considered.
This announcement follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent call for another round of peace talks in Turkey and his hope to expedite negotiations towards achieving a ceasefire.
The ongoing diplomatic efforts highlight the complex nature of the conflict resolution process as both sides continue to navigate through challenging negotiations.
