On Wednesday, a security official from Jordan reported to the state news agency PETRA that Jordan had thwarted an attempt by militants, backed by foreign forces, to bring weapons into the country.
The security services successfully seized the arms and apprehended the Jordanian smugglers involved in the incident, which occurred in March.
The PETRA statement added that investigations and operations regarding this matter are still ongoing.
It is worth noting that Jordan has previously prevented several other attempts to smuggle weapons into its territory.
These attempts included the seizure of mines, explosives, Kalashnikov rifles, and Katyusha rockets.
