Jeddah City Launches Comprehensive Campaign to Eliminate Unauthorized Street Stalls
The municipal authorities in Jeddah have launched a significant operation in the Airport District to eradicate unlicensed street stalls. The campaign is part of broader efforts to ensure adherence to health standards, enhance the city's appearance, and address unwanted activities.
Fahad Al-Zahrani, chief of the Airport District, reported that the initiative commenced with the surveillance of street vendors near the central vegetable market and throughout local communities, where the sprouting of illicit stalls was noticeable.
During the operation, enforcement teams confiscated 4 tons of vegetables and removed multiple unauthorized stalls and carts used for unregulated selling. Al-Zahrani also noted that the cleanup included erasing all remnants of these stalls from public spaces like roads and pavements.
