Jazan Showcases Traditional Saudi Folk Dances and Music
Saudi Arabia’s traditional dances and music were recently highlighted at a festival in Jazan, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.
The Jazan Heritage Village hosted the second National Folk Festival, where 144 students from various regions demonstrated the Kingdom's cultural heritage.
The event featured the rhythmic "Samri" dance by Riyadh and Al-Qassim students, the drum-infused performances of Najran's youth, the “Dahha” dance by Northern Border participants, and Makkah's "Majrour and Rajaz" folk music.
Local Jazan students captivated the audience with their "Sword" and "Azzawi" dances, while Jeddah's representatives impressed with "Mezmar" and "Khobaiti" routines. Performers from Al-Baha energized the crowd with "Mashbanani" and "Ardah" dances, and Al-Ahsa entranced with "Ashouri" and "Haydah Al-Harbiyyah."
The festival serves not just to display artistry but also to deepen students' connection to their country’s diverse artistic heritage.
