Israeli Government Accused of Using Holidays to Heighten Tensions in Occupied Territories
The Israeli government is accused of using the Jewish holidays to heighten tensions in the occupied territories by closing the Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings with Gaza, as well as performing collective rituals in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Palestinians are being prevented from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, and settlers are performing Talmudic rituals at the gates of the mosque.
Israeli forces have launched a campaign of arrests and raids on citizens' homes, and have notified owners of agricultural facilities, roads, and electricity grid lines to stop construction in Aqraba.
The Israeli authorities are also displacing the residents of Ein Samiya, which is considered a form of ethnic cleansing.
Settlers have also destroyed Palestinian crops and homes, and fired live ammunition under the protection of the Israeli army.
The Palestinian leadership is being urged to respond to these challenges and unite Palestinians to stop the perpetuation of violence.
