Iran has issued a stark warning that it and its regional allies will confront Israel if it attacks Lebanon.

This comes amid fears of a broader regional war involving Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah movement.

Since the October onset of the Gaza war, there have been daily exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Recently, Israel's military indicated readiness for an offensive in Lebanon, which Hezbollah warned would not leave any part of Israel unscathed.

Additional escalations include Iran-backed Yemeni rebels targeting commercial ships and a serious confrontation earlier this year involving drone and missile strikes between Iran and Israel.

Tensions remain high as Iran has not recognized Israel since 1979.
