Iran Tests 2,000km-Range Ballistic Missile, Claims Capability to Reach Israel and US Bases
Iran has successfully tested a 2,000km-range ballistic missile, which it claims is capable of reaching Israel and US bases in the region.
Iran's ballistic missile program has been the subject of opposition from the US and European countries, but Iran has said it will continue to develop its "defensive" missile program.
The missile tested was called Kheibar, a reference to a Jewish castle overrun by Muslim warriors in the early days of Islam.
The test comes two days after the chief of Israel's armed forces raised the prospect of "action" against Iran over its nuclear program.
