  • President of Qom University of Medical Sciences: From September 9, we must consider Qom in a situation beyond red. Yesterday, 92 people suspected of Coronavirus were hospitalized in Qom, raising the total to 440. (Mehr news agency, September 10, 2020)
  • Masoud Mardani, member of the Scientific Committee of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): In addition to the Coronavirus, we may face an epidemic of influenzas and cold in fall. This coupled with schools that lack special pandemic provisions, a catastrophe may occur, and we may face the Coronavirus eruption again. (Entekhab daily, September 9, 2020)
  • Alireza Zali, head of Tehran’s NCCT: 80% of the Coronavirus outpatients, needed hospitalization. The number of patients hospitalized is more than 500 per day, i.e., a 14.9% increase relative to last week. (ILNA, September 9, 2020)
  • Director for Tehran in Education Ministry: The situation in all areas of Tehran is red, and we no longer have yellow and white (virus-free) spots. (Jahan-e Sanat daily, September 20, 2020)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Thursday, September 10, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 427 cities had passed 101,300. The number of victims in Khorasan Razavi is 7,292, Mazandaran 4,919, Isfahan 4,639, Gilan 4,192, East Azerbaijan 2,942, Alborz 2,868, Golestan 2,858, Fars 2,856, Kermanshah 2,371, Kurdistan 2,019, North Khorasan 1,669, Kerman 1,625, Semnan 1,327, Central Province 1,313, Zanjan 969, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 747.

While regime functionaries in Tehran and other provinces are reporting an increasing trend of Coronavirus outbreak, Rouhani brazenly said today: “The governor of Hormozgan reported that mourning ceremonies were also held in this Province while upholding the (hygiene) protocols; schools reopened, and children are attending schools while observing the protocols.

At the same time, Coronavirus infections are declining, and we are proud of that. Some thought that if we allowed the mourning ceremonies and the reopening of schools, the situation would get out of control.

But we see that cultural, educational, religious, and economic activities are going well, and infection is declining because the protocols are being observed.”
