Indonesian Hajj Pilgrim Receives First Open-Heart Surgery at Madinah Cardiac Center during Hajj Season
An Indonesian Hajj pilgrim, in his 60s, underwent the first open-heart surgery at the Madinah Cardiac Center during the current Hajj season.
He was diagnosed with a heart attack after arriving at the center's emergency department with severe chest pain.
The medical team discovered a severe blockage in all three coronary arteries during a diagnostic catheterization and successfully performed the surgery.
The pilgrim recovered and was discharged to continue his Hajj rituals.
The medical team performed open-heart surgery on the patient using an endoscope and grafted new arteries from his chest and a vein from his leg.
The patient was then transferred to the intensive care unit for further treatment and later moved to the inpatient ward for follow-up and rehabilitation after his condition improved.
