Haramain Railway to operate over 100 daily services between Makkah and Madinah during Ramadan

The Haramain High-Speed Railway has decided to increase the number of train services between Makkah and Madinah to more than 100 trips per day during the peak season of the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, the railway management sources said that a decision in this regard was taken in view of the huge inflow of Umrah pilgrims and visitors to Saudi Arabia via King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, and Prince Muhammad International Airport in Madinah during the month of Ramadan, which marks the peak annual Umrah season.

According to the sources, the Haramain High-Speed Train witnessed a huge turnout in the number of Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, as well as visitors to the city of Jeddah and the King Abdullah Economic City of Rabigh, through five stations equipped with full services. The railway, which connects Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and Rabigh, has so far operated more than 25,000 trips since the start of the operation, with maintaining 95 percent accuracy in the schedule of services.

The sources stated that the Jeddah station in Sulaymaniyah marked an increase in the number of trips. At present, there are 58 trips in both directions between Makkah and Jeddah Sulaymaniyah, as well as 26 trips between the Sulaymaniyah station and the King Abdulaziz International Airport. There are two trips per hour between Makkah and Madinah during peak hours and one trip every hour between King Abdulaziz International Airport station and Makkah station during peak times.
