Global Experts to Address Space Debris at Riyadh Conference

RIYADH: The Saudi Space Agency will organize the second International Space Debris Conference in Riyadh from Jan. 26-27, 2026, as per a report by the Saudi Press Agency.
This event marks the agency's commitment to enhancing the Kingdom's leadership in global space sustainability initiatives.
The conference seeks to facilitate international dialogue, establish joint policies to mitigate space debris impacts, and encourage collaboration on sustainable solutions and innovative technologies for the long-term preservation of the space environment.
Registration for participants is available at ssa.gov.sa/SDC26, with an invitation extended to interested parties.
Additionally, the agency has announced the global DebriSolver Competition to be held during the conference, focusing on innovative solutions for addressing space debris challenges across technical, regulatory, economic, and social dimensions.
The registration deadline for the competition is Aug. 30, with applications accepted at ssa.gov.sa/c-ar.
The first edition of this event, held in Riyadh in 2024, attracted participants from over 50 countries along with international organizations and global companies.
It concluded by issuing recommendations to emphasize the significance of managing space debris effectively.
