GCC Chief reiterates Gulf countries standing with Saudi Arabia

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf reiterated the solidarity and standing of GCC countries with Saudi Arabia in confronting all that threatens its security and stability.
He said in a statement on Saturday that GCC countries support the security measures taken by Saudi Arabia to preserve its security along with safety of all citizens and residents, commending the vigilance of the Saudi security authorities and what is required for security in Jeddah when a man who blew himself up and injured a number of security men.

He hopes a speedy recovery for the injured and that Saudi Arabia remains protected.

Saudi Presidency of State Security announced last Friday that while arresting a wanted man in Jeddah governorate, the perpetrator blew himself up with an explosive belt, which led to his demise.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab Parliament condemned the bombing incident took place in Jeddah and showed their solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

A wanted man blew himself up with an explosive belt that resulted in killing him, and wounding of one resident and three security men.

In a statement, the secretary affirmed Saudi Arabia's ability to repel decisively those who try to touch its stability and security.

President of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Asousi deplored the incident and stressed his confidence in the Kingdom to protect its vital facilities, and the safety and security of citizens and expats as well as combat the terrorist individuals and groups, read to a statement by the parliament.

Also, Egypt has voiced its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and backed all the measures it takes to counter all threats to its security and stability.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry affirmed that Egypt stands with Saudi Arabia in the face of all forms of terrorism, violence and extremism.

It also reiterated Egypt’s backing of the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard the safety and security of its citizens and residents, praising the vigilance of the Saudi security authorities and their ability to deal with a wanted individual. It also wished speedy recovery for the wounded.
