GCC Adventure: Indian-Saudi Couple Completes 62,218 Kilometer Motorcycle Journey

JEDDAH: Two Jeddah-based Indian-Saudi bikers have completed a remarkable 62,218 kilometer journey across the Gulf Cooperation Council region on their motorcycles.
The couple, Mir Shakeel Ur Rahman from Hyderabad and Amal Ahmed from Jeddah, embarked on a 24-day trip to explore Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, demonstrating their devotion, determination, and love for adventure.The pair has been biking together since their marriage six years ago, turning their shared interest and passion into surreal experiences.
Their latest expedition aimed not only at reaching new destinations but also at connecting with fellow motorcyclists and celebrating national days in each of the GCC states they visited.Starting from Jeddah in late November 2024, Mir and Amal rode to Makkah, Taif, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi before crossing into the UAE.
They encountered challenging weather conditions, particularly sandy roads, but were assisted by Saudi patrol officers, ensuring their safe passage.
Upon reaching Abu Dhabi, they connected with Sheikh Suhail Bin Hasher Al-Maktoum, known as the 'Father of All Bikers,' who hosted them for the celebration of the UAE's 53rd National Day.The couple continued their journey to Oman, where Shakeel found riding particularly enjoyable, exploring historical sites and venturing into the surrounding mountains.
Their Omani friends provided generous support, leading tours and assisting with bike maintenance.
A highlight was visiting Jebel Akhdar, the Green Mountain.After spending several days in Oman, they rode towards Bahrain and attended the annual Bahrain Bike Week, featuring motorcycle races, concerts, and street festivals.
The event was filled with energy, passion, and a love for two-wheeled vehicles.Recognized by KALAM's World Record, Mir Shakeel Ur Rahman and Amal Ahmed officially set the record for the longest motorcycle expedition as a couple.
They expressed their happiness at this achievement and look forward to receiving their award on September 16, 2025.
The couple shows no signs of settling down and is already planning their next adventure.
