From Daesh Survivors to Saudi Vision 2030: A Global Snapshot of Conflict, Economy, and Diplomacy

Daesh Prisons Museum launches online with survivor testimonies while tensions rise in Kashmir amid autonomy debates and escalating conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.
Starting off with a somber yet crucial initiative, the Daesh Prisons Museum has launched online, offering over 500 harrowing testimonies from survivors. This virtual project, spearheaded by Syrian journalist Amer Matar, not only seeks to document the brutal history of Daesh's actions but also provides crucial information for those searching for missing loved ones through a planned sister site.

Meanwhile, in Kashmir, the ongoing turmoil continues as Indian troops clashed with rebels, leading to heightened tensions in the Zabarwan and Baramulla areas. Against this backdrop of violence that includes recent grenade attacks, calls for reinstating regional autonomy are growing louder after being stripped in 2019.

Shifting to the economic front, Saudi Arabia's Industrial Production Index saw a small dip of 0.3 percent in September, mostly due to a decline in the manufacturing sector. Nonetheless, the diversification efforts under Vision 2030 are supported by notable growth in chemical and food product manufacturing.

In an escalating conflict, Israel's recent airstrikes have resulted in heavy casualties in Lebanon and Gaza, with at least 37 people killed in separate incidents. Humanitarian concerns mount as ceasefire discussions stall, and the region faces increasing casualties and displacements.

Across the globe, the UK government has turned down Nigel Farage's proposal to mediate with US President-elect Donald Trump, instead favoring alternative diplomatic approaches. As preparations continue for the incoming Trump administration, the UK is choosing to pave its own diplomatic path forward.

Finally, back in Saudi Arabia, the Biban 24 event has culminated in a major economic boost, securing over $9 billion for the SME sector. With international collaboration and significant investment in Riyadh, the forum aligns perfectly with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, fostering a fertile environment for entrepreneurship and innovation.
