Four Seasons to Launch Luxury Hotel in Diriyah

Four Seasons to Launch Luxury Hotel in Diriyah

The forthcoming Saudi Arabia property will be ornately crafted to honor regional Najdi design traditions
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Diriyah Gate Development Authority are partnering to launch the Four Seasons Hotel Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The forthcoming luxury retreat will feature an organic, low-impact design from architecture firms Aedas and Elastic Architects that honors regional heritage with nods to traditional Najdi style. Locally inspired finishes will punctuate interior details, including doors, windows, floor patterns, and textiles.

“Our intent is to provide a modern interpretation of these elements and harmonize them with clean-line furnishings that appeal to the global traveler,” says Elastic partner Enrique Mangalindan. “The interior design must tell the story of the historical Najdi household which, at its core, is authenticity rooted in the history of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while also presenting a timeless and curated residential design that is uncomplicated, intuitive, and is of the quality that one would expect of a Four Seasons hotel.”

A residential-style vibe will be fostered upon arrival. Check-in desks will occupy corners of the palatial lobby, blending into its living room layout, while a central atrium courtyard will be crafted akin to a traditional Najdi abode. Anchoring the courtyard will be a sculptural indoor water fountain installed beneath an artful chandelier that pays homage to the wadi.

Each of the hotel’s 150 guestrooms and suites will herald guests with distinctive door knockers and integrated signage that reinterpret Nadji aesthetics through a modern lens. Similar craftsmanship will be conveyed by wood elements as well. Wardrobes will infuse a rich, soothing olive hue across guestrooms, promoting relaxation in tandem with deep lounge chairs and sofas overlooking vistas of the scenic landscape. Bathrooms will be crafted to adopt the spirit of a hammam, complete with a sculpted bathtub installed behind a wood screen and accented by soft, indirect lighting.

“We want guests to feel a sense of belonging, ease, and comfort when they visit the hotel,” Mangalindan adds. “It is important that in our design, every moment and ritual is enhanced and celebrated, which is key in creating fond new memories and forming lasting emotional connections.”

Amenities at Four Seasons Hotel Diriyah, Saudi Arabia will include expansive meeting and event facilities, as well as a fitness center and seven-room spa. A pair of outdoor pools lined with private cabanas and four F&B options will round out the onsite social hubs.
