Opulent Cruise Provides an Escape from Politics, Journeying to 140 Nations Across All Seven Continents
A U.S. cruise company, Villa Vie Residence, is offering an exclusive journey lasting up to four years for those seeking to "escape from politics" and explore the world as
Donald Trump's presidency concludes. As reported by Business Insider, the luxury cruise will visit 140 countries across seven continents, with tickets for the all-inclusive trip priced at $255,999 per room, and a double-occupancy cabin starting at $319,998.
Additionally, the company provides a "Midterm Election" package, a two-year cruise costing $150,399 for a solo traveler or $187,998 for a couple. Guests can also opt for one- or three-year voyages aboard the Odyssey, which operates continuously. The ship is equipped with spa facilities and fitness programs, and tickets include meals with complimentary beer and wine at lunch and dinner.
Business Insider noted that prior to the 2020 election, millions of Americans considered leaving the country if Trump was re-elected. After the election results were announced, online searches for "moving to Canada" surged. While the Odyssey cruise doesn’t offer actual citizenship or immigration, it provides passengers the opportunity to "escape the traffic, politics, and urban routine."
The Odyssey's inaugural journey began in September after a four-month delay in Belfast, Ireland. It was also noted that two passengers who persistently complained about the delays were removed from the ship and had their contracts terminated.
Interestingly, while on this escapade, passengers will inadvertently support
Elon Musk’s Starlink, as the cruise offers internet access. Thus, they’ll be steering clear of politics while indirectly funding the tech billionaire instrumental in boosting Trump's profile.
That said, having these individuals far away from home could be seen as further evidence of a Trump victory truly contributing to America’s greatness.
