Eastern Province Prince Inaugurates Al-Ahsa Dates Marketing Festival

Today, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Prince of the Eastern Region, has inaugurated the "Al-Ahsa Manufactured Dates Marketing Festival" under the banner "With Dates, Life is Sweeter 2024". The festival is organized by the Al-Ahsa Municipality in partnership with the Al-Ahsa Governorate and the Al-Ahsa Development Authority, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, and His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, at the "Al-Ahsa Municipality Heritage Fortress".
His Highness stressed the importance of investing in the national agricultural product "dates" and expanding its marketing directions to achieve the targets of Saudi Vision 2030. This includes reinforcing growth in date production and its derivatives using the latest technologies and the highest quality standards, contributing to increasing date exports globally and transforming them from an agricultural product to an economic and investment product with an impact on the gross domestic product.

His Highness pointed out the optimal utilization of the resources and strategic opportunities that Al-Ahsa possesses for integrating the authenticity of culture and heritage. He noted the festival's progressively successful growth in marketing dates in the previous eight versions, achieving significant leaps towards meeting the objectives. The festival serves as a channel to enrich the tourism sector of the region, given Al-Ahsa's regional and global significance, all while under the guidance and support of the wise leadership, may God protect them.

On his part, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing confirmed that the initiative of the Al-Ahsa Municipality to organize the festival since 2014, has contributed to improving agricultural and industrial practices through the innovation of numerous transformational industries over the years. This has achieved quality and productivity for the date sector in the governorate, creating a positive competitive environment among date manufacturers. This competition leads to growth in both the quantity and quality of dates and their transformational industries, especially as the festival has become an attraction for an increasing number of visitors each season.

Furthermore, the Secretary of Al-Ahsa, Engineer Essam Al-Mulla, emphasized that the festival aims to offer marketing services, support date merchants, and create an integrated system to achieve efficiency and productivity according to standard marketing specifications for Al-Ahsa date varieties, aligning with global market requirements. He mentioned that the Municipality, together with its partners, is striving to enhance the marketing targets for Al-Ahsa dates through this festival from one edition to the next. Al-Mulla expressed gratitude for the patronage of His Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province for the festival and the follow-up of His Highness the Governor of Al-Ahsa to achieve the festival's goals, thus elevating Al-Ahsa's status and its economic, developmental, social, and cultural dynamics.
