Saudi Arabia introduces clean diesel and gasoline fuels in Kingdom’s market
Saudi Arabia is progressing its sustainability ambitions by introducing clean diesel and Euro-5 standard gasoline, aiming for low emissions.
These fuels are compatible with all means of transport and align with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 environmental goals. The EU-designed Euro-5 standard specifically targets vehicle emission reductions.
As a regional leader in sustainable practices, including its Saudi Green Initiative, Saudi Arabia aims to meet a net-zero emission target by 2060 through a circular carbon economy.
With these fuel advancements, the Ministry of Energy expects to stimulate the arrival of cutting-edge, energy-efficient vehicles in Saudi Arabia.
Recently, Red Sea Global became the nation's first to switch its delivery trucks to low-carbon biofuel, using electricity or biofuel across its vehicle fleet. This biofuel is refined from local used cooking oil and significantly reduces emissions, from 2.7kg to only 0.17kg of CO2 equivalent per liter.
