Erdogan Signals Push to Elevate Turkey–Saudi Ties in Talks With Crown Prince
The Turkish president tells Saudi Arabia’s crown prince that Ankara is determined to deepen political, economic and strategic cooperation
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Turkey is determined to take bilateral relations to a significantly higher level, underscoring Ankara’s commitment to strengthening cooperation across diplomacy, trade, defence and regional security.
The message was delivered during high-level talks aimed at consolidating the momentum in relations following a period of rapprochement between the two regional powers.
Erdogan emphasised that Turkey views Saudi Arabia as a key partner in the Middle East and said expanding dialogue and collaboration would serve the stability and prosperity of the wider region.
According to Turkish officials, the discussions focused on enhancing economic ties, boosting bilateral trade volumes and encouraging new investment flows, as well as exploring deeper coordination on energy, defence industry cooperation and regional diplomatic initiatives.
The Turkish leader also highlighted the positive trajectory of relations in recent years, noting that mutual engagement and confidence-building steps have helped restore trust and open new avenues for cooperation.
Both sides reiterated their shared interest in addressing regional challenges through dialogue, including developments in Gaza, Syria and broader Middle Eastern security dynamics.
Saudi Arabia and Turkey have steadily rebuilt ties since resuming closer engagement, with reciprocal high-level visits and growing economic interaction.
Officials on both sides say the latest exchange reflects a mutual desire to institutionalise cooperation and translate political understanding into long-term strategic partnerships.
The talks concluded with agreement to maintain close communication at all levels and to accelerate joint initiatives that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals and Turkey’s regional economic and diplomatic priorities, signalling a sustained effort to elevate the relationship in the months ahead.
