Emir Inaugurates Public Bus Transport and 34 Projects Valued at SR1 Billion in Tabuk
Prince Fahd bin Sultan, the Emir of Tabuk, inaugurated 34 new development initiatives totaling SR1 billion and launched the public bus transportation system in Tabuk. The inauguration event, attended by Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majed Al-Hogail, celebrated the advancements aimed at enhancing infrastructure and living standards across the region's cities and governorates.
Al-Hogail commended Emir Fahd's support for the ministry's endeavors and highlighted that these projects align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, aiming to evolve Saudi cities into smart, sustainable centers. The ministry's objectives center on urban development, improved life quality, efficient road networks, green spaces, and effective flood defenses, spanning tourism, entertainment, and healthcare sectors.
In 2023, 35 municipal development projects worth over SR710 million commenced, focusing on infrastructural upgrades and traffic enhancement, with a total of 69 ongoing projects valued at SR1.7 billion. Additionally, Dr. Rayan Al-Hazmi from the Transport General Authority introduced the first public bus route using 25% electric buses. With four routes, 128.1 km in length and over 105 stations, it connects Tabuk's key hubs. The prince also launched this environmentally conscious project.
Finally, Prince Fahd witnessed the signing of several investment contracts for the Tabuk mayoralty, expected to generate an investment return of SR235 million and incur over SR400 million in construction costs.
