Egypt's Foreign Minister Warns of Consequences from Israel's Gaza Activities, Calls for Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry warned of severe consequences if Israel continues to escalate its activities in the Gaza Strip during a meeting with his Jordanian and Iraqi counterparts, Ayman Al-Safadi and Fuad Hussein, in Manama.
He emphasized that the situation would negatively impact the security and stability of the entire region.
Shoukry discussed Egypt's efforts to achieve an immediate, comprehensive, and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and called for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the area.
The talks took place on the sidelines of an Arabian foreign ministers' meeting in preparation for the Arab Summit.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Shoukry, emphasized Egypt's rejection of efforts to displace Palestinians and undermine the Palestinian cause.
He called for an end to targeting civilians, halting settler violence, and allowing adequate aid access for Palestinians.
During the meeting, Shoukry also reiterated Egypt's support for the stability of Iraq and Jordan and emphasized the importance of boosting cooperation among the three countries through the tripartite mechanism.
Egypt views this cooperation as a means to align the interests of the three countries and maximize common benefits.
Egypt and Iraq discussed strengthening their relations during a meeting between Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry and Iraqi Minister Hussein.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of implementing agreed-upon projects and reiterated their leaders' commitment to enhancing cooperation.
Hussein highlighted the historical ties between the two countries and Egypt's role in resolving the crisis in Gaza.
