The Duchess of Edinburgh Visits Iraq, Delivers Message from King Charles III
The Duchess of Edinburgh visited Iraq this week, meeting with politicians and feminist activists in a rare visit by a British royal to the war-scarred country.
During her two-day trip, she met with President Abdul Latif Rashid and his wife, Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, and delivered a message from King Charles III.
She also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani and visited centers that took care of women and children's health.
The duchess delivered a speech at the annual conference of Women's Voices First, a fund for women's rights organizations in Iraq.
She also met with businesswomen and discussed the challenges they faced.
The visit was kept secret due to security reasons.
