Culture Ministry to organize Ramadan Season activities to revive cultural heritage of holy month

The Ministry of Culture is preparing to organize the activities of Ramadan Season 1444 AH across Saudi Arabia in order to revive the historical cultural heritage associated with the holy month.
The activities will be organized as part of a comprehensive cultural program in 14 cities distributed around 10 regions of Saudi Arabia. More than 38 locations will host lively, cultural, social and creative events throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan Season aims to celebrate the customs of Saudi society in the fasting month, introduce the authentic Saudi cuisine and present Ramadan culture in all its rich details in innovative ways, in addition to virtually sharing with the Islamic world a set of local cultural experiences.

The Season will also include a variety of activities, such as: live performances, handicrafts, riddles and competitions, sports tournaments, entertainment activities, historical exhibitions, and popular games, in addition to iftar and suhoor areas.

The Season will be celebrated with due respect to the unique character of Ramadan, based on the spatial cultural identity of the cities of Saudi Arabia. Its activities will start in Jeddah, which is considered as the gateway to the Two Holy Mosques. There will be diverse activities at Al-Balad Gate (Historic Jeddah), such as Ramadan stories, and many more.

Each event will include a range of activities including charity work, exhibitions on the history of Jeddah, restoration of historic mosques, printing of the Qur’an, popular restaurants, and others.

As for Riyadh, it will witness several different activities, such as: Ramadan tent, charitable work, poetry evenings, volleyball and paddle-ball tournaments, walking track, and e-games.
