Cloudy weather, spring thunderstorms predicted until later in the week

Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has predicted cloudy weather and spring thunderstorms in most regions of the Kingdom during this week.
The NCM tweeted: “The spring thunderstorms will continue in most areas in the Kingdom, from medium to heavy, accompanied by showers and active winds, from Monday to Thursday (April 24-27).”

The rain is expected to hit the regions of Riyadh, Hail, Najran, Jazan, Asir, and Baha in that time, with Makkah affected later in the week.

The NCM added that there is a chance of thunderstorms, hail showers and dust problems due to surface winds in the regions of Qassim, Madinah, Tabuk, Jawf, the Northern Borders, and parts of the Eastern Region.

The Tabuk region was expected to be affected by the conditions on Monday, while Madinah was scheduled to be hit later on Monday and Tuesday.

Riyadh was 35 C on Monday but was expected to cool to 31 C by Wednesday and Thursday due to the cloudy conditions.

The NCM predicted northwesterly to southwesterly surface winds over the northern part of the Red Sea, at a speed of 18-38 kph, and southeasterly turning to southwesterly over the southern and central part, at a speed of 15-38 kph.

The movement of surface winds in the Arabian Gulf is westerly to southwesterly at a speed of 12-32 kph.
