Jabal Ikmah in AlUla Listed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register
AlUla’s Jabal Ikmah has been listed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register for its significant contribution to the understanding of the region's heritage and cultural history.
The site, which is an "open-air library" and features 450 historically significant carved inscriptions, is said to be the largest collection of inscriptions recording the ancient Dadanite Kingdom’s religious rituals and daily activities.
The Royal Commission for AlUla has been investing in the study and conservation of sites such as Jabal Ikmah to enhance the world's understanding of the site and improve visitors' access in a sustainable way.
