RABAT — In a recent development, Saudi Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani has been re-elected as the chairman of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers.
This election took place during the 74th meeting of the Executive Office in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday.Dr. Al-Samaani expressed his gratitude to the bureau's members for their renewed confidence in him and highlighted the significance of enhancing Arab cooperation across various judicial domains.
He emphasized that this move aligns with the objectives set forth by the Council of Arab Justice Ministers.During the meeting, key topics such as the Arab Convention for the Suppression of Terrorism and its implementation mechanisms were discussed.
The session also focused on promoting both Arab and international cooperation in combating terrorism.
Additionally, the gathering reviewed proposals aimed at harmonizing Arab legislation, including drafts like the Arab Model Law on Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and the Arab Guiding Law on the Protection and Assistance of Internally Displaced Persons in Arab States.
