Saudi authorities have made 591 arrests in a crackdown on drug smuggling operations in the Jazan and Asir regions, the Ministry of Interior said.
Attempts to smuggle 264 kg of hashish, 473,799 controlled tablets and a large quantity of the narcotic qat were foiled between Dec. 19 last year and March 26, Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday
A total of 591 arrests were made during the operations, the ministry said.
