Saudi authorities intercept drug trafficking attempts, resulting in confiscation of illicit substances.
In a series of successful interventions against narcotics smuggling, the Saudi Border Guard has intercepted significant quantities of contraband in separate incidents across the nation.
On one occasion, land patrols in Al-Daer, Jazan, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 29 kilograms of hashish and 70,000 tablets that are subject to medical circulation controls.
Following preliminary procedures, the seized drugs were transferred to the relevant authorities for further action.
Additionally, in Riyadh, a Syrian national and a Saudi citizen have been apprehended for allegedly attempting to smuggle 12 kilograms of hashish along with regulated pharmaceutical tablets.
The individuals have undergone initial legal processing, and they too have been referred to the competent law enforcement agencies.
To combat the ongoing issue of drug trafficking, the security services urge citizens and residents to report any information regarding drug smuggling or sales.
This can be done by dialing 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 for the rest of the Kingdom.
Alternatively, individuals may contact the General Directorate for Narcotics Control (GDNC) via 995 or through email submissions.
