Saudi King and Crown Prince Extend Warm Congratulations to Algerian Leader on Liberation Revolution Anniversary
Riyadh reaffirms strong bilateral ties as Algeria marks the 71st anniversary of its 1954 uprising
On Saturday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent formal messages of congratulations to the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in honour of the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the 1954 Liberation Revolution.
The messages expressed wishes for the president’s continued health and happiness, and conveyed hopes for the ongoing progress and prosperity of the Algerian people and government.
The communications underscored the “brotherly relations” between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Algerian Republic, praising the deep bonds and signalling intent to further deepen cooperation “across all fields.” Both statements—one from the King and a separate one from the Crown Prince—arrived on the same day, reflecting Riyadh’s unified diplomatic tone toward Algiers.
This message comes as Algeria commemorates a key national milestone — a moment to reflect on national unity, sovereignty, and the enduring legacy of the struggle for independence from colonial rule.
For Saudi Arabia, the gesture reaffirms its solidarity with fellow Arab states and emphasises its role as a supportive partner.
Saudi and Algerian officials have in recent years sought to expand diplomatic, economic and cultural exchange, making the congratulatory messages more than ceremonial: they reflect a continuation of mutual respect and a strategic orientation toward deeper ties.
Riyadh’s public display of goodwill thus signals that cooperation and friendship remain at the forefront of bilateral relations between the two nations.
