Saudi Arabia has secured 18 international awards during the 48th World Hospital Congress of the International Hospital Federation held in Geneva — a remarkable achievement underscoring the Kingdom’s growing global standing in healthcare delivery and research.

Thirteen of the awards recognised hospital development projects, reflecting Saudi institutions’ capacity to deliver quality infrastructure, clinical services and management standards that meet or exceed global benchmarks.

In the scientific research category, Saudi researchers earned five awards across diverse streams including digital health and artificial intelligence, clinical-care models, and sustainability.

The dual success in both operational excellence and academic innovation highlights an increasingly integrated Saudi health ecosystem — one where world-class care provision stands alongside cutting-edge research.

Officials have described the results as validation of the Kingdom’s long-term efforts under Vision 2030 to modernise the health sector, invest in infrastructure and scientific capacity, and elevate service standards to international levels.

At the Geneva congress, which convened hospital and health-system leaders from more than 80 countries, Saudi entries stood out among hundreds of submissions.
