Saudi Authorities Intercept Two Attempts to Smuggle Over 69,000 Captagon Pills at Riyadh Airport
Customs officials in Saudi Arabia thwart smuggling attempts involving amphetamine-based drugs concealed within clothing of passengers.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) successfully intercepted two separate incidents of drug smuggling at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The combined total of Captagon pills seized stands at 69,045 amphetamine-based tablets.
The first attempt involved the concealment of 34,588 pills, while a further 34,457 were found hidden inside the clothing of another passenger in the second incident.
ZATCA highlighted its commitment to increasing customs control measures across all Saudi ports, with the aim of safeguarding society from illicit substances and criminal activities.
The authority encourages the public to assist in combating smuggling by reporting any suspicious activities through a dedicated security hotline, email address, or an international number.
