Saudi Arabia Unveils Major Expansion of Renewable Energy Projects Across Southern Regions
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy and the Public Investment Fund have announced three large-scale solar projects in the Jazan and Asir regions, targeting four gigawatts of clean electricity capacity by 2029 as part of efforts to accelerate the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 energy transition goals.
The projects are expected to significantly expand renewable power generation in southern Saudi Arabia, strengthening long-term energy diversification plans under the national transformation agenda.
