Saudi Arabia Records Over 18,600 Offences in Recent Inspection Campaigns
The Ministry of Interior documented 18,673 violations, including residency, border security, and labor law offences.
Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Interior has reported a total of 18,673 offenses during inspection campaigns conducted between September 25th and October 1st.
These infringements encompassed various categories such as residency (10,673), border security (3,822), and violations related to labor laws (4,178).
During this period, authorities apprehended 1,479 individuals attempting to enter the Kingdom unlawfully.
Among them, a significant majority—59%—were Yemeni nationals, followed by Ethiopians comprising 40%, with the remaining 1% belonging to other nationalities.
Additionally, 52 people were arrested for attempting to exit Saudi Arabia unduly.
Seventeen individuals were also taken into custody for their involvement in facilitating offenses through transportation, sheltering, and employment of violators.
The current cohort undergoing regulatory enforcement procedures includes 31,015 expatriates, out of which 29,172 are male and 1,843 are female.
In response to breaches, authorities detained 25,478 individuals who were instructed to contact their respective countries' embassies or consulates for assistance in obtaining appropriate travel documents.
Furthermore, 2,139 were advised to organize their repatriation, and 11,544 were successfully sent back to their home countries.
