KABUL — Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and President of the Association of Muslim Scholars, held a series of important meetings with Afghan ministers this week aimed at bolstering Islamic solidarity, countering extremism, and promoting an accurate understanding of Islam's teachings.During his visit to the Presidential Palace, Al-Issa met with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The meeting focused on aligning behavior among Muslims with the principles outlined in the Quran and Sunnah.
They emphasized the necessity for fostering tolerance, wisdom, and constructive dialogue within Muslim communities.The discussions drew attention to the Makkah Declaration and the Document on Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought, both pivotal initiatives launched by the Muslim World League.
These documents underscore the need for unity among different Islamic schools of thought and encourage interfaith understanding.The gathering also acknowledged the significant contributions made by the Islamic Fiqh Council, an esteemed institution affiliated with the Muslim World League.
This council unites leading Islamic scholars and muftis from around the world to provide religious guidance.Separately, Al-Issa met with Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani at Shaharsinar Palace to examine
Afghanistan's efforts in combating terrorist organizations.
