Ghislaine Maxwell Completes Interviews with Justice Department Officials
Maxwell answered questions about 100 different people, her attorney says.
Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, completed a round of interviews with Justice Department officials.
The 1 1/2-day long sessions were conducted to gather information on approximately 100 individuals.
Maxwell's attorney, David Oscar Markus, stated that she answered all questions truthfully and did not invoke any privileges.
These interviews stem from President Trump's directive to uncover credible evidence of other potential criminal offenses.
Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding Epstein's case, which includes his association with prominent figures like royals and billionaires, officials have confirmed that Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail cell while awaiting trial in 2019.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of helping Epstein sexually abuse underage girls.
Her attorney also mentioned that Maxwell is appealing her conviction on the grounds that federal prosecutors had previously guaranteed she would not be charged for any potential involvement with Epstein.
The Justice Department has stated that no client list related to Epstein exists and will not release additional files from the investigation.
