Investigators have retrieved the flight data recorders from the wreckage of a plane that crashed in Russia’s far east, resulting in the deaths of 48 individuals.
The Antonov-24 aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, was attempting to land for the second time in Tynda, a remote Siberian town, when it disappeared from radar on Thursday afternoon.
A rescue helicopter located the burning fuselage approximately 15 kilometers south of the airport.
Various parties are exploring potential causes such as technical malfunction or human error.
The flight recorders will be sent to Moscow for decryption and analysis.
Additionally, Russian authorities have launched an investigation into Angara Airlines’ compliance with aviation standards.
Families of the victims will receive compensation totaling five million rubles per person.
It is reported that one passenger was spared from death due to a last-minute request to disembark.
