Members of the ministerial committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit convened with the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on May 27, 2024.
The summit, held in Riyadh in November 2023, called for an end to Israeli military actions in Gaza due to escalating conflict.
Leading the ministerial committee was Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, joined by his counterparts from Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt.
The meeting focused on the ongoing aggression in Gaza, including a recent Israeli airstrike in Rafah that killed 45 people.
The committee emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to address the humanitarian crisis and reiterated the importance of establishing a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The committee rejected any discussions regarding Gaza's future that exclude the Palestinian issue and demanded accountability for Israeli violations.
