Abbas Calls for Immediate Ceasefire, Urges International Action Against Gaza Blockade
Palestinian President Accuses Israel of 'Genocide', Condemns West Bank Annexation Plans
GAZA — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has urged the international community to intervene immediately in the ongoing situation in Gaza, condemning Israel's actions as a 'genocide'.
In a televised address, Abbas called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and demanded the urgent entry of food and medical supplies into the besieged territory.
He also warned of the dire humanitarian conditions within Gaza, citing the deaths of over 100 Palestinians due to hunger and malnutrition in recent weeks.
Abbas stressed that hundreds of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid remain stranded outside the sealed borders of the Gaza Strip, calling for UN agencies to be allowed by the U.S. to deliver this assistance.
He also denounced any attempts at forcibly displacing Palestinians from Gaza or annexing the occupied West Bank, urging the global community to reject such moves and support Palestinian sovereignty.
