Riyadh Air and China Eastern Airlines Sign MoU to Boost Connectivity and Digital Transformation in Chinese Market

Riyadh Air and China Eastern Airlines Sign MoU to Boost Connectivity and Digital Transformation in Chinese Market

Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's newest carrier, has signed a deal with China Eastern Airlines to boost connectivity and collaborate on digital transformation.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the International Air Transport Association Annual General Meeting in Dubai and marks a significant step for Riyadh Air to enter the Chinese market.

The agreement aligns with Saudi Arabia's plans to increase passenger numbers and expand flight routes.

CEO of Riyadh Air, Tony Douglas, stated that China is a crucial market for the airline's future network and that the collaboration with China Eastern Airlines will unlock new travel opportunities and drive economic growth in both countries.

The MoU also focuses on exploring synergies in digital innovation.

The CEO of Riyadh Air and the Chairman of China Eastern Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration, focusing on digital transformation.

The partnership aims to foster knowledge sharing and technology development in this critical area for Chinese airline, China Eastern.

Both parties anticipate positive outcomes from this cooperation, as China Eastern is committed to digital empowerment and enhancing competitiveness.

Riyadh Air recognizes China Eastern's digitalization efforts and sees potential for mutual growth.

The chairman announced that a new agreement will improve passenger transfers between China and regions including the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and South America.

In June, a PIF-backed firm signed strategic partnerships with Singapore Airlines and Air China, focusing on interline connectivity, codeshare arrangements, and potential collaborations in frequent flyer programs, cargo services, customer experience, and digital innovation.
