Kuwaiti FM Meets Japanese Counterpart During Japan-GCC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Al-Yahya, met with his Japanese counterpart, Takeshi Iwaya, in Kuwait to discuss bolstering bilateral relations.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the second Japan-GCC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held on Monday.
During their discussions, they addressed the development and strengthening of ties between Tokyo and Kuwait across various fields, as well as delving into regional and international developments.
The Japanese minister emphasized that the foreign ministers’ meeting provided a valuable opportunity to engage with GCC countries in addressing regional and international challenges.
Additionally, Iwaya mentioned that Japan aims to advance negotiations towards the early conclusion of the Japan-GCC Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations.
In regards to energy relations, Iwaya highlighted Kuwait's significance as one of Japan's key oil suppliers and a crucial partner in energy security.
He expressed hope for Kuwait to continue playing a vital role in the global energy market while also supporting efforts towards stable energy resources and a transition to clean energy solutions.
